Papa Joe’s Tyrolean Raiders: Fantastic game and big time football atmosphere

In one of Europe’s most beautiful und modern stadium the EFAF Cup game betwean the Papa Joe’s Tyrolean Raiders and the PA Guilford Knights was a tremendous success. 3500 spectators, live coverage on the Austrian national TV and Europe’s football VIPs like Uwe Talke (EFAF), Toni Allen (NFLE), Michael Eschelböck (AFBÖ) wittnesed a great football game which was close in the first half (28:21 for the Raiders) and a spectacular second half when the Raiders defense shout out the strong running attack of the Knights.

Perfect Gameplan
A nearly perfect game plan made it really exciting for the fans a players:
In the 1st QT the Raiders scord twice (Receiver Dieplinger caught a 39 Yard TD Pass, then Running Back Grein scored on a 4 Yard run) and were able to stop the strong Knights rushing game.
Eventually Knights star Stitt showed his class and cut the lead down to 7:14 scoring on a 2 Yard run. In the next ball possession though, Raiders Running Back Wade Smith score his first TD making the score 21:7. 1:48 before halftime Knights Running Back Stitt proved his class again scoring on a sensational 32 Yard run, cutting the score to 14:21. 1 ½ minutes before halftime the crowd saw two spectacular big plays: Raiders Running Back threw a halfback option pass to WR Dieplinger for a 45 Yard score putting the Raiders ahead 28:14. In the ensuing ball possession the Knights played a similar trick play and Stitt threw the ball to Belcher for a 59 Yard TD, ending the first half with 28:21 for the Raiders.
In the second half Raiders Head Coach Barocio adjusted the defense once more and they could shut out the strong Knight’s offense. In addition to the great defense perfomance the Raiders offense kept scoring on the ground, Running Backs Grein and Smith put the ball in the endzone twice each, ending the game with 56:21 for the Raiders.
